Mouthguards/Night guards: perfect for grinding your teeth or protection during sports

by Dr. Adam Koplon

Patients come to us all the time asking about mouthguards, but many times their reasonings are different. The most common reasons for asking about custom made mouthguards are typically for athletes playing contact sports, or for those who grind their teeth in their sleep. We share more about why custom made mouthguards or night guards might be a fit for you or your family below:

Night guards
Do you or a family member grind your teeth during your sleep? Grinding your teeth (also known as bruxism) can be caused by stress or anxiety, but can also be caused by an abnormal bite or sleep disorder like sleep apnea. Grinding your teeth most often always occurs during the night and can cause headaches, soreness in your jaw or literally grind your teeth down. Custom fit night guards provide relief from symptoms while also protecting your teeth.

Mouthguards for athletes
Do you have kids who play impact sports at any level? Whether for lacrosse, football, basketball and more, let us custom make and custom fit high-quality mouthguards. Sports mouthguards made by our team provide a more dependable fit compared to boil-and-bite mouthguards that you can make at home. We can even personalize mouthguards for your children so they can show team spirit, or keep it simple.
